RCMP seeking man accused of assaulting minor

  • EFN Staff | December 30, 2014

Wadena RCMP is asking the public’s help in locating a man charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest, but police have so far been unable to locate 49-year-old Vincent Alex Desjarlais of Kylemore, SK. They believe he is actively attempting to evade police. Desjarlais has connections to the Long Plain First Nation, MB and the Saskatchewan communities of Punnichy, Yellow Quill First Nation, Saskatoon and Regina.

On May 11, 2014, Wadena RCMP received a complaint from a health care worker of a female youth under the age of 16 who was the victim of a sexual assault. After an investigation, Desjarlais was charged on June 12 with sexual assault, sexual interference of a person under the age of 16, procuring marriage and assault.

Desjarlais has black hair (may have a pony tail) and brown eyes. He is 5 foot, 10 inches, 176 pounds, with a medium build. He has several tattoos: see the following photo gallery.

Anyone with information on Desjarlais should contact the Wadena RCMP at (306) 338-6500.
