It is with sadness the family of Gale “Kōna” Takakenew announce her sudden passing on Monday, September 22, 2025, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan at the age of 64 years.
Gale is survived by the Father of their Children George Isbister; Her children Neanna (Russel) Taubhorn, Darren Isbister, Adeen Isbister, Duncan Isbister and Neeya Isbister (Tyler); Grandchildren Deitrich Taubhorn, Nazhoney Taubhorn, Uri Taubhorn, Darren Jr Isbister, Aurora Isbister, Gianna Isbister, Sheera Thomas-Isbister, Kendal Thomas, Silver Thomas, Kendrick Thomas, Ryker Colley, and Heartly Colley;
Mother Marie Child;Siblings Lawrence Konchinew, Morris Gladue, Gordon Takakenew, Mario Bird, Warren Dalton, Kenny Dalton, Nathan Mier, Evelyn Swiftwolfe, Helen Moccasin, Christine Swiftwolfe, Wallace Moccasin, Ernie (Grace) Moccasin, Doug (Flora) Morningchild, Jean Takakenew, Wanda Alexander, Peggy (Vern) Sunchild, Crystal (Rick) Whitstone, Pierrita (Brian) Whitstone, Mavis Takakenew, Soaring Eagle Whitstone, and Cody Whitstone;as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is predeceased by Her Maternal Grandparents Jim and Nancy Moccasin; Paternal Grandparents Alec and Mary Takakenew;
Father Sam Child; Siblings Richard Moccasin, Tom Takakenew, Wilfred Gladue, Sandra Takakenew-Swiftwolfe, Samuel Child, and Lee Whitstone; Grandchildren Suzy-Gale Thomas-Isbister, Goldie Thomas, and Layla Colley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Wake will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Chief James Okanee Memorial Centre, TCFN, SK.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Chief James Okanee Memorial Centre, TCFN, SK.
