Allan Norman Morgenstern was born October 20th, 1928, in Maidstone, SK. to Arno and Margareta Morgenstern. At the age of five the family moved to the homestead near Loon Lake. He was the eighth of nine children. Dad went to the Queen Valley School up to grade eight. November 14,1959, Dad Married Evelyn Yager. Together they started farming in the Old Loon Lake District. Soon after, they started their family of five children.
Dad did grain farming and raised cows, pigs and chickens. He built his own sawmill, so he logged trees, sawed and planed lumber for himself and many others. In 1979 they sold the farm and moved to an acreage on Highway 26. Dad never slowed down. He still played music, built sheds, did woodworking, and started a mini bottle depot. In 2007 they moved into Loon Lake and in 2020 Dad moved into the Loon Lake Care Home.
Allan leaves to mourn his children Sharon (Gabe) Craig, Delores (Owen) Jeancart, Donna (Albert) Lantz, Calvin (Agnes) Morgenstern and Sheila (Alvin) Guttormson; his grandchildren Kari (Jonny Cote) and Andrea Craig, Renée and Dusty (Ashley) Jeancart, Travis (Krista) Lantz, Melissa Thorson, Amanda (Chris) Peterson, Stacey, Lyle (Ruth) and Ryan (Jodi) Morgenstern, and Wade (Melanie) and Cynthia Guttormson; his great grandchildren Robert, Arlo, Rowan, Abbey, Zoey, Brock, Karaline, Silas, Chase, Danika, Quinn, Maverick, Emmette, Everest, Rhett, Nova, Kal, Tanner, and Kaylee.
Allan was predeceased by his wife Evelyn; his parents Arno and Margareta; his brothers Henry (Agnes), Alvin (Mary), John and Eddy; his sisters Clara, Nellie (Clare), Emma (Raymond) and Selma (Art); and his grandson in-law Kirby.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27th, 2025, at the Loon Lake & District Recreation Center Hall, Loon Lake, SK.
If so desired, donations in memory of Allan may be made to the Loon Lake Care Home or the Alzheimer’s Society.
