Pelican Narrows House Fire Kills Two Children, Injures Another

Pelican Narrows RCMP are investigating a house fire that appears to have claimed the lives of two young boys and injured a young girl.
RCMP were called to the house fire on the morning of January 18.
The home owner, along with three others, were able to escape the burning building. Police were advised that there was a nine-year-old and 10-year-old boy unaccounted for and last seen within the residence.
The 10-year-old daughter of the homeowner sustained burns to her body and was taken to hospital in Flin Flon, Manitoba, and has since been taken to Winnipeg. The extent of her injuries is not know.
A fire scene examiner from the Provincial Emergency Management and Fire Safety Office attended to the scene the following day.
Further examination of the scene reveiled the bodies of two unidentified children.
An autopsy has been ordered in relation to the two bodies. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
