The North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) kicked off with an amazing turnout at the Opening Ceremonies held at Mosaic stadium.
We were able to find plenty of athletes from all over North America including Summer Supermant. She's a volleyball athlete for Team British Columbia. This is her first trip to Saskatchewan and so far, she's having a great time.
"This is a once in a lifetime experience, I'm glad I got the opportunity to be able to be a part of it. It's a lot of fun and lots of cool things going on."
Supermant has been playing volleyball for four years now and she was happy when she received the news that she made it for Team BC to compete in NAIG.
"I was so excited, I was on my way to work and I got an email. I was jumping up and down calling my mom. It was pretty fun."
She's looking forward to have a fun experience and hopes to win gold. Her words to the youth who would like to play NAIG in the future is work hard but to have fun.
"Just try out and do your best and hopefully you make it."
