Cultural Advisor/Elder Services - Saskatoon Correctional Centre

The Saskatoon Correctional Centre is seeking an Elder/Advisor for a full-time contract of a maximum of 2080 hours per year over a five-year period. This position is set to begin in August 1, 2026 for the successful candidate.
Cultural Advisor/Elder selected will have a working knowledge and/or expertise in the delivery of the following areas: teaching traditional ceremonies including but not limited to the sweat lodge and pipe ceremonies, understanding the cultural practices of First Nation and Metis people, provide individual counseling and sharing circles to offenders. You will act as a resource to the Cultural/Community Coordinator and Correctional Centre staff to increase understanding and sensitivity of the First Nation culture, traditions, spirituality, practices, and beliefs.
Cultural Advisor/Elder is contracted to provide services to a maximum of 40 hours per week at a rate of $43.00 per hour for a 5-year term.
Cultural Advisors/Elders must obtain a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) prior to being awarded this contract and adhere to all rules and regulations while at the Centre.
