The Saskatoon Aboriginal Professional Association’s Career Distinction: The Power of Personal Branding Event
- Warren Isbister | December 04, 2014
The Saskatoon Aboriginal Professional Association (SAPA) group recently held a successful event that focused on Personal Branding. We heard insights from Jason Aebig, Senior Strategist at Creative Fire, who set the stage and talked about developing your own personal brand.
We then heard from Devon Fiddler, CEO of SHENative Goods. She shared her personal story and described the entrepreneurial ambition that led her to develop her own company. Devon found that owning her personal brand contributed significantly to her success.
The last speaker was Leanne Bellegarde, Director of Aboriginal Strategy PotashCorp, who talked about dedication, community involvement, and overall caring for people where you live and work. Leanne’s presentation brought home the message of keeping it personal and down to earth. Her message was inspiring!
The evening ended with delicious food and great conversations and new networking opportunities.
We’d like to give a shout out to our event sponsor The City of Saskatoon, our event decorator Dawn Wasacase, and event caterer Heather Bekar Executive Chef & Owner of Chef de Partie Catering. Also, thank you to sponsor Athabasca Catering Limited.
The SAPA team is already planning for the New Year. Look forward to some exciting professional development breakfast bites beginning in January and another Networking splash event in March of 2015! The SAPA group works diligently to bring a variety of professional development opportunities based on feedback from past events. If you have any comments, suggestions, and/or feedback we would be happy to hear from you. Please contact yxeAPA@gmail.com for further information.
